MediLytic Bilirubin (T&D) 100 ml

Bilirubin (T & D) reagents are used to measure total and direct (conjugated) bilirubin in human serum or plasma.

The method is typically based on the Jendrassik & Grof method (a diazo-reaction / color - imetric assay) in which bilirubin reacts with diazotized sulfanilic acid (plus an “accelerator” like caffeine or DMSO) to form a color.

In “Direct” mode (without accelerator), only conjugated (direct) bilirubin reacts; in “Total” mode (with accelerator), both conjugated and unconjugated (indirect) bilirubin are measured.
