🧬 Test Principle

✔ AST catalyzes the transfer of amino group from L-aspartate to α-ketoglutarate
✔ Oxaloacetate formed reacts in presence of MDH
✔ NADH is oxidized to NAD⁺
✔ Decrease in absorbance at 340 nm is measured
✔ Rate of change is directly proportional to AST activity
