🧬 Test Principle

✔ Urea is hydrolyzed by urease enzyme to form ammonia
✔ Ammonia reacts with phenol and hypochlorite in alkaline medium
✔ A blue-green colored complex is formed (Indophenol)
✔ Intensity of color is directly proportional to urea concentration
✔ Measured photometrically
